What is Calidad Certificada?
The "Calidad Certificada" (Certified Quality) is an identification mark for Andalusian quality products. It is a label issued by the Andalusian Regional Government to identify products whose production and precessing meet guaranteed quality standards and which are environmentally sound.
How many Calidad Certificada products are on the market?
More than 1430 Andalusian products made by 350 companies have been awarded the Calidad Certificada" label in many different sectors, including olive oil, wine, vinegar, brandy, cured ham and meats, fruit and vegetables and canned vegetables and fish.
Which products have the label?
On application, the label can be awarded to products with a Designation of Origin, Specific Designation or Protected Geographical Indications, Organic Farming, food certified as Traditional Speciality Guaranteed and Rational Agriculture Label, Vinos de la Tierra (wines with a geographical indication) and other quality wines designations and agricultural and fishery products which have been certified by accredited organisations.
How can I identify Calidad Certificada products?
"Calidad Certificada" products bear the logo on their packaging or labels. Look out for it.
